Contour measurement with light section sensors

The sensors developed by TBK measure up to 2000 contours per second. Following the principle of two-dimensional triangulation, a laser line is projected onto the product surface. Diffusely reflected light provides the basis for the acquisition of cross-sections from which relevant information for controlling the rolling process can be generated.

High sampling rates, different laser colors and absolute synchronization are features that distinguish TBK sensors from other light section sensors. These properties guarantee the highest accuracy and a detailed image of the current product quality, even with fast moving or highly vibrating material.
